We’re Elspeth, Shaun & Morgan, three friends building a new kind of home phone for kids. A phone that lets them stay connected without opening the door to the entire internet.
Smartphones weren’t designed for children.
They’re built to be addictive. Bombarding kids with endless notifications, comparisons, strangers and pressure to perform online.
The result? Increased rates of anxiety, depression and delayed social development. Less of the carefree childhood they deserve.
We wanted another option!

About the First Families Pilot
How it works
Completely free: You’ll receive a prototype phone, delivered to your home.
Simple setup: Plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi and follow a quick guide. It works like a classic landline, but calls travel securely over the internet.
Calling controls: This early version doesn’t yet include parental controls. Kids can dial any number they know, but our encrypted system blocks spam and random inbound calls. Keep it in a shared family space.
Who you can call: Kids can call any Australian number. International calls aren’t available yet.
Feedback: We’ll check in by email and short chats for your thoughts — what works, what doesn’t, what your kids love.
Automatic updates: Your phone updates itself as we release new features, so you’ll always have the latest version.
About the Pilot
Invitation only: Your child was invited by a family already testing.
Easy and safe: Kids can make calls without screens, apps or web access — just real voices and real connection.
Built to Australian standards: Made with certified components that meet national electrical and telecommunications safety requirements.
Privacy first: We will never use your child’s data for marketing or sell it to anyone. Ever.
Limited data only: We don’t record calls. We only see call times and durations to improve reliability and safety.
Calling Plan: Your first 3 months is free then it is $5 a week for unlimited calls to and from all Australian phone numbers. We will reach out in early 2026 to process your subscription.
Emergency calls: The prototype does not support 000, yet. Please keep a mobile phone nearby for emergencies.
000 capability is in development to be released this year. We’ll notify you as soon as it’s available.
Pilot timing: The pilot will run over the coming months with updates released progressively based on your feedback.
Pilot Availability: We only have a limited number of phones available for pilot.
